COVID-19 Employee Vaccine Policy Framework

You will leave this session with an understanding of the framework that guides employers in creating workplace policies, ‘where to start’ in policy development, and why all businesses and sectors should begin thinking about implementing a vaccination and related policies now to keep pace with the ever-changing landscape of COVID-19.

Presenters:

Tanya Tynski - As the Senior Advisor of People and Culture, Tanya brings a ‘people first’ approach to her portfolio. With over 29 Years of public services with the Government of Prince Edward Island, she has held various leadership roles, gaining extensive experience and understanding in all areas of human resource management both at the operational and strategic levels, including that of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness.

Prior to joining MC Advisory, Tanya was the Executive Director of Human Resources and Pharmacare for Health PEI.  In addition, she also assumed the role of Chief Planner for the COVID-19 Joint Response Team.  In this role she was responsible for standing up screening and assessment clinics, recommissioning space for future need, coordinating ethical reviews, implementing a virtual care platform, and providing oversight to the situational / intel team responsible for monitoring the overall response objectives.  She is keen to share her knowledge about policy development and considerations when creating a COVID-19 Immunization Policy.

Karen Lockeby - Karen is a solutions-oriented leader and trusted advisor known for delivering results, assisting businesses to meet their compliance obligations and facilitating collaborative relationships between businesses, safety regulators and health authorities.

Through her work with federal and provincial government organizations, regulators, crown corporations and indigenous organizations, Karen has gained extensive advisory experience in occupational health and safety, risk management, regulatory compliance, operational and project management, policy development and government/business relations.

Karen brings a unique perspective having worked with the internationally renowned safety regulator, SafeWork New South Wales, in Sydney Australia to develop safety regulations and innovative workplace guidance and training for a wide variety of business sectors in response to the Human Swine Influenza (H1N1) pandemic in 2009 and the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) pandemic in 2014.
