Occupational Health & Safety Training – Level I
Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) training is mandatory for all employers in Newfoundland & Labrador to ensure workplaces are safe and compliant with regulations. The Board of Trade offers regular OHS training to help employers meet their legal obligations and create safer work environments. Level I and Level II training are available to meet the specific needs of different-sized workplaces.
Level I training is designed for workplaces with 1-19 employees and focuses on the core principles of OHS, including:
The basics of occupational health and safety;
Hazard recognition, evaluation, and control;
Conducting workplace inspections; and
Investigating incidents.
*Other relevant topics such as mental health may be covered.
Employers must compensate workers for participating in training, and participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
