Join us, in collaboration with a Memorial University research team, to share information and provide your valuable insights in an Employer Consultation session for a study on "Skill shortages and Hiring Skilled Workers in Atlantic Canada."
The purpose of this study is to analyze attitudes and perceptions towards hiring skilled workers, including immigrants, refugees, international students and temporary foreign workers. Based on the findings of this study, we will provide recommendations to both public and private sectors on how to better recruit and retain skilled workers in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This project intends to achieve the following objectives:
  • Identify sectors in the local labour market that experience shortages in skilled workers
  • Examine factors influencing employers' decision to hire and retain skilled immigrants, refugees, international students and temporary foreign workers
  • Identify best practices that can help employers in recruitment and retention of skilled workers including newcomers and international students in the province
