About Us

For 90 years, the iconic Brookfield Factory on LeMarchant Road served as a hub of local manufacturing, shipping quality goods to 28 countries. Today, Brookfield District Inc. is reclaiming that legacy of success by shaping the future of St. John’s West End. We are building a vibrant, community focused destination that currently hosts a YMCA daycare, The Cove Bouldering, Urban Market 1919, and Teresa James Floral. Our mission is to support and grow local vendors while providing a space where the community can gather and enjoy the very best that local business has to offer.
Rooted in the belief that development must be as flexible as it is ambitious, we are currently exploring investigative permitting for an exciting new chapter. Our vision for the district includes modern housing options through new apartments and condos, a purpose-built home for The Cove Bouldering, and a brand-new, fully accessible Urban Market 1919. Whether through the revitalization of historic spaces or the construction of new ones, the Brookfield District is committed to pivoting alongside the evolving needs of our city, creating a collaborative environment where residents and businesses can thrive together.
