About Us
The Majestic Theatre is a stunning, historic venue in downtown St. John's. It first opened as a silent movie house in 1919 and today, it is an inclusive community arts hub that produces meaningful performances, provides affordable space for community use and arts collaboration and cultivates local economic growth by providing professional opportunities for our province’s artists. Through The Majestic Theatre Young People’s Company, The Majestic provides unique employment opportunities in theatre making, producing high calibre shows for all ages in our community. With incredible shows all year long, The Majestic hires as many of the province's incredible artists as possible, collaborating with artists to bring the community fantastic shows and events. The venue also has a smaller stage on its main floor bar + café where events, shows, gatherings and festivities bring people together. Come visit us!
