Sharing Stories of Resilience at Reimagined Annual Event

St. John’s, NL, December 2, 2020 – The St. John’s Board of Trade announced today, in a virtual awards show, the five winners of the 2020 RBC Business Resilience Awards.

Every year the St. John’s Board of Trade celebrates the best of the business community at the Business Excellence Awards. However, given the challenges of 2020, we knew we needed to celebrate business a little differently. This year, we recognized resilience in five new award categories:

  2. Boundary Pusher Award – St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival
  3. Service Star Award – Colemans

“The team and I have been blown away by the volume and quality of nominations that we received,” said AnnMarie Boudreau, CEO, St. John’s Board of Trade. “Local businesses have stepped up and shone this past year despite all the hardships and unique circumstances that a state of emergency, record snowfall, and global pandemic threw at them. Our members’ ability to support their staff, customers, and community is nothing short of astounding.”

“We were excited to see how the St. John’s Board of Trade is recognizing success this year,” said Mike James, Vice President, Commercial Financial Services, RBC Newfoundland and Labrador. “It is no surprise that success should be measured differently this year and we’re delighted support this event and celebrate the accomplishments of the business community.”

“The St. John’s Board of Trade is built for times like this,” said Andrew Wadden, Chair, St. John’s Board of Trade. “As much as we don’t hope for them, for an organization like ours who extends and supports business, provides advocacy, links government to the needs of the business community, and much more – navigating tough times and looking for opportunities for our business community is what we do best.”
